Wind Energy Creating Jobs!!! – Xcel Energy Blog

How great is it when one good thing creates a bunch of other good things? According to national averages provided by the American Wind Energy Association, the 201-megawatt Nobles Wind Farm in southeastern Minnesota created approximately:
• 200 construction jobs
• 13 long-term operation and maintenance jobs
• 400 manufacturing jobs
• Approximately $600,000 in annual farmer/landowner revenue
And that’s just one wind farm. Others are already completed, and more are in various stages of construction.

Green Home Energy Design: Beauty Meets Efficiency

The National Renewable Energy Lab’s new hyper-efficient office building in Golden, Colo., is meant to inspire builders and architects with the notion that net zero energy use is not only attainable but also affordable and even elegant.
The relationship and, often as not, tension between hardheaded engineers and design-conscious architects is woven into the fabric of every great building.

Chevy Volt Electrically Equipped for Winter Driving – GM

Source: General Motors
When the first Chevrolet Volts purchased by retail customers rolled off the delivery trucks in New Jersey recently, they were met with the season’s first major blast of winter weather. The new owners quickly found out the world’s first extended-range electric vehicle came fully winterized.
One of the goals in developing the Volt was to create a plug-in electric vehicle suitable for everyday use regardless of weather. Typical northern winters take an even bigger toll on battery-powered vehicles than on traditional internal combustion-powered cars and trucks.

Chevrolet Volts have been delivered to customers in the Washington D.C. area, as well as California, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Texas.

Going Pump Free: Volt Owners Go 1,000 Miles Between Fill-Ups

Green Volt Car vs Fully Electric Vehicles Comparison

Sometimes I agree with the ranking of organizations. This one reported by CNN I really don’t approve but I thought it was important for people to see.
Source: CNN
The Chevrolet Volt didn’t rank as one of the top-ten “greenest” cars in America, coming at no. 12, according to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy’s (ACEEE) annual list. However, just because it didn’t rank doesn’t mean it is not adored, respected and appreciated by the EV community of the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) community. In fact, it is respected and has been driven so ACEEE, buy a vowel!!!
