Come out with your family and friends to Ossining’s Earth Day/Stash the Trash event at the beautiful Louis B. Engel Waterfront Park on April 30 from 11am -5pm.
Featured events of the day, which have been organized by the Town/Village Green Ossining Committee include:
Stash the Trash: Meet at 12 noon at Engel Park, the Joseph G Community Center, 95 Broadway; the Ossining Historical Society at Croton Avenue, or the Jug Tavern, 74 Revolutionary Road in Ossining, New York to get your assigned clean up territory, gloves and bags. This year, we are pleased to offer biodegradable garbage bags for the clean up. Come to the Earth Day fair afterwards to participate in activities and have some delicious, healthy local food.
Earth Day Celebration: 11am-5pm: Come to Louis B. Engel Waterfront Park for a fun and educational day with your family, featuring music, children’s activities and information about how to save money by reducing your carbon footprint. Special events throughout the day!

Recycle Extravaganza! Clothes, Books, Household appliances, small personal electronics, Ewaste -computers, laptops, monitors, printers, copiers, fax machines, servers ,ups batteries, keyboards, mice, wires, computer parts, telephone systems ,cell phones, stereo equipment. ($10.00 charge for television sets, air conditioner units and dehumidifiers), Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs (CFL)
Recycle/Swap sports & recreation equipment your kids no longer need.
Special event this year: Prom Dress Swap – Bring your prom dresses to donate or swap. Need a prom dress? “Shop” here first!
Education by Hilltop Hanover Farm, Ossining High School Environments Club, Teatown Lake Reservation, Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Ossining Boat and Canoe Club, and other organizations
There are still limited vendor spaces available for those who have green business ventures. We are also seeking student and adult volunteers to assist with the day’s activities.
