Veggie Grill, Southern California’s feel-good comfort food brand, today announced it provided food and refreshments for artists backstage at “A Decade of Difference: A Concert Celebrating 10 Years of the William J. Clinton Foundation.” The company served its food to an all-star group of the most influential and socially responsible artists in music, film, and television as they came together with President Clinton to celebrate the work and the impact of the Clinton Foundation.
“It’s an honor for Veggie Grill to have been a part of this special event that supports the work of the William J. Clinton Foundation,” said Greg Dollarhyde, CEO of Veggie Grill. “We’re proud to have served our award-winning food for this monumental event.”
Veggie Grill donated its 100% plant-based soups, salads, burgers, wraps, sandwiches and desserts for the performers, presenters, participants and organizers of the concert. Signature menu items included the “Santa Fe Crispy Chickin’” sandwich, Buffalo Wings, “All Hail Kale” salad, Carrot Cake, and many more.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that US / Virginia-based Hilton Worldwide is one of the top 10 on the agency’s list of national green power purchasers and EPA’s Green Leadership club for buying 10 TIMES THE AMOUNT OF GREEN POWER REQUIRED!!
Hilton Worldwide’s green power purchase of more than 300 million kilowatt hours is equivalent to avoiding the yearly carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of over 42,000 passenger vehicles or from more than 27,000 average American homes’ electricity use.
Hilton Worldwide is purchasing enough green power to meet 94 percent of its electricity use. Green power is generated from renewable resources including solar, wind, geothermal, biogas, and low-impact hydropower.

A sour U.S. economy, tight state budgets, and a failure by Congress to adopt a comprehensive energy strategy have not slowed the growing momentum among U.S. states toward increased energy efficiency, according to the fifth edition of the annual ACEEE State Energy Efficiency Scorecard released today by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) during a National Press Club news conference.
Available online at http://aceee.org/research-report/e115, the ACEEE Scorecard shows that the top 10 states are: Massachusetts (taking the #1 position for the first time); California (slipping from the top spot it held for the first four editions of the ACEEE Scorecard); New York State; Oregon; Vermont; Washington State; Rhode Island; Minnesota, Connecticut; and Maryland (making its first appearance in the top 10 and also one of the six most improved states in the 2011 ACEEE Scorecard).
