EV Connect Powers Santa Monica Toward EV Leadership

Santa Monica has taken a major step toward electric vehicle adoption, thanks to a key partnership with EV Connect. The city collaborated with the EV infrastructure company to install a new network of EV charging stations. As a result, the city made it significantly easier for drivers to power up their electric cars.

This initiative aimed to expand access to plug-in charging, especially in high-traffic areas. Moreover, the goal was to align with Santa Monica’s sustainability plan and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. With EV Connect’s expertise and scalable cloud-based platform, Santa Monica modernized its infrastructure to support cleaner transportation.

EV Connect Delivered a Turnkey Solution

EV Connect didn’t just install hardware—it delivered a full-service solution. That included software, maintenance, real-time monitoring, and even customer support. Their network allows cities and businesses to control pricing, track usage, and manage energy loads more effectively.

Furthermore, the system is designed to integrate with other smart city tools. Through their open standards, EV Connect ensures that cities like Santa Monica can continue evolving their clean transportation ecosystem without getting locked into one provider.

Public and Private Sector Collaboration Worked

This project wasn’t possible without public-private cooperation. EV Connect worked alongside Santa Monica’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment. Together, they mapped out charging station locations based on traffic patterns, population density, and EV ownership trends.

The effort showed what’s possible when clean tech companies partner with forward-thinking municipalities. Not only does the city support electric vehicles—it actively encourages them.

Setting an Example for Other Cities

Santa Monica’s actions offer a template for other cities aiming to prepare for the EV future. As electric vehicle ownership rises, so does demand for convenient, accessible charging infrastructure. Therefore, cities that act early will gain a clear advantage.

By embracing EV Connect’s scalable platform, Santa Monica positioned itself as a leader in sustainable mobility. It also demonstrated that transitioning to electric isn’t just a climate solution—it’s good governance.
