Winnipeg-based startup to participate in month-long initiative
WINNIPEG, April 22, 2015 – Permission Click, a Winnipeg-based startup that’s digitizing permission slips,
is proud to announce an initiative to plant trees in honor of Earth Day and Arbor Day. For the month following Earth Day, Permission Click will donate one tree in celebration of every school that goes digital. All for the collection of permission slips and payments with its online platform. Permission Click’s newest eco-friendly initiative.
For it aims to do more to reduce paper use and to be a green force in the community. So this new initiative is about more than just saving paper. It contributes to educating the next generation. Especially on the importance of our ecosystem. Moreover and the role trees play within it.
Why Does This Matter?
According to data compiled by the World Resources Institute, Canada is one the world’s largest emitters of greenhouse gases per capita. By providing assistance this Earth Day, more trees will trap air pollutants and absorb greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, and also produce oxygen which makes the air cleaner and safer to breathe.
Since Permission Click’s inception in 2014, tens of thousands of pieces of paper have been replaced with online permission slips. Those savings translate financially for schools, as well. One ream of approximately 500 sheets of paper can cost more than $7.00, and those seemingly small costs add up over time, especially if the additional costs of toner and printer maintenance are considered. A 5,000 child district could expect to save more than $3,000 on these materials alone, further compounded by the hours of time spent distributing to students and tallying up responses automated by Permission Click.
Conclusion
The Permission Click platform creates a direct link between schools and parents. Teachers create and send digital permission slips, for things like class trips and club participation, directly to a parent’s email though Permission Click’s free digital platform. Parents can then give approval and send payment safely through the online platform. The payment solution on the site is PCI compliant and secured by Stripe.
