IMO´s Fair for Life Fair Trade and Social Responsibility Programme today finalised the Global Social Compliance Programme (GSCP) Equivalence Process as the first product certification scheme that applies to a wide range of products, ensures fair production conditions down to farm level and is guaranteed by an independent ISO 17065 accredited certification body.
Fair for Life commits to high standards in social and fair trade certification. Moreover, joining the GSCP Equivalence Process shows serious dedication to transparency. In addition, the benchmarking helps align the program with international best practices. Therefore, it builds trust with businesses, consumers, and partners worldwide.
Fair for Life Benchmarked Through GSCP Equivalence Process
Fair for Life completed the GSCP Equivalence Process. Moreover, this process benchmarks programs against international best practices in sustainability. It uses the GSCP Reference Tools to ensure clear, high standards.
By participating, Fair for Life demonstrated alignment with these global benchmarks. In addition, the results are now available for sharing and comparison. Registered users can access them on the GSCP Equivalence Process online platform. Therefore, this transparency supports trust and consistent sustainability across supply chains.

Fair for Life Supports GSCP’s Mission
“We support the GSCP’s vision of more transparency, comparability, and trust in global sustainable sourcing,” said Florentine Meinshausen, author of the Fair for Life Programme. Moreover, she shared pride in completing the rigorous GSCP assessment.
“Our well-established, independent Fair for Life Social & Fair Trade Programme finished the in-depth benchmarking process. Moreover, evaluating it against the GSCP Reference Code and Audit Process was valuable. In addition, this exercise helps us strengthen and improve the Fair for Life Programme. Therefore, it will make recognition easier with different market actors and their varied social codes and expectations,” she explained.
What the GSCP Stands For
The Global Social Compliance Programme (GSCP) unites key players in the consumer goods industry. Moreover, they share a common goal: driving positive change and improving business efficiency in social and environmental sustainability along supply chains.
GSCP Collaboration for Sustainable Supply Chains
The GSCP believes collaboration is essential for progress. Moreover, experts from retail companies, brand manufacturers, international organizations, academia, and government join forces under its framework. In addition, they work to deliver a harmonized, global approach for efficient, sustainable supply chains. Therefore, they rely on Reference Tools, an Equivalence Process, and regular meetings and working groups.
This work is facilitated by The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF). Moreover, CGF is a global, parity-based industry network driven by its members. Therefore, it supports initiatives that promote sustainability and better business practices worldwide.
