NYC Launch Party for the Green Lighting Book

Earth911.com is celebrating the expansion of its staff in New York City!

This NYC launch party event offers a great chance to meet my co-author, Brian Clark Howard. He significantly influences the green media space with his insightful commentary and innovative ideas. Other green media stars will join us, creating an exciting atmosphere full of lively discussions and networking opportunities. Attendees can engage in conversations about sustainability and environmental issues shaping our future. Brian will give away a signed copy of our book, Green Lighting. It is filled with practical tips and inspiring stories for anyone interested in making a positive impact. This event promises to be informative and a fantastic opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for green initiatives.

We held the NYC Launch Party as a special way to celebrate the Earth911.com Editorial Department’s expansion to the city. We also celebrated the wonderful connections and relationships we formed since arriving a few short months ago. I am excited about this step in growing and refining our editorial style, voice, coverage, and capabilities. Our Editorial team is just over two years old. Our rapid development in product stewardship and sustainability is encouraging, to say the least.

NYC Launch Party : Candle 79

We chose to host our party at Candle 79, an upscale vegan restaurant on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. It is known for its elegant ambiance and exquisite plant-based cuisine. At the NYC Launch Party venue, Candle 79, you can enjoy an award-winning restaurant that even has its own cookbook. This cookbook is filled with not only delicious recipes but also the philosophy behind their sustainable practices.

Top celebrities, including Alicia Silverstone and others, have cited this restaurant as their favorite dining spot in NYC. This adds a layer of allure and excitement for food enthusiasts from all over the world. Moreover, it further solidifies its reputation as a must-visit location for both locals and tourists alike. These guests are seeking not just a meal, but an experience that embodies the essence of healthy, sustainable eating.

We were fortunate enough to meet the owners and authors of the cookbook, Joy Pierson and Bart Potenza. At our NYC Launch Party, they welcomed us with open arms and shared fascinating stories about their journey. Both were incredibly passionate about their commitment to veganism and healthy living. They emphasized the importance of using organic ingredients and supporting local farmers.

Their dedication extends beyond the kitchen. They actively advocate for a compassionate lifestyle, inspiring others to join the movement towards healthier choices that are both delicious and environmentally friendly.

They expressed their deep appreciation for the community that has supported their restaurant over the years. Both were honored to have Earth911.com at their venue. Moreover, they were excited about the possibility of collaborating with us in some of our upcoming pieces. They were envisioning potential projects that could raise awareness about sustainability and healthy eating. As a result, this could inspire others to explore the wonderful world of plant-based dining, especially considering how the NYC Launch Party brought so many people together.

NYC Launch Party Swag

We took a unique approach to “swag” for our guests. Instead of generic gifts, we asked Earth911.com staffer Matt Connelly and his friend Sket One from Connecticut to create customized art pieces. These pieces were donated to lucky party-goers. Both artists used the Earth911.com logo to illustrate “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.” As part of the NYC Launch Party, these creative works helped make our event even more memorable.

Additionally, we possess a signed copy of your new book “Green Lighting”. We also have a signed copy of the Candle Cafe Cookbook. We created art from recycled materials. Matt’s piece, titled “One Small Step in the Right Direction,” uses vinyl, cel vinyl paint, vintage fabric, wood, and shoelace. All of this was featured during the NYC Launch Party.

We were especially excited about the menu. It highlighted locally grown produce. Our guests sampled seven different hors d’oeuvres. The staff passed them around throughout the party. Head Chef Angel made these dishes specially for our event. He handpicked the ingredients from a local farmers’ market that morning, ensuring the NYC Launch Party showcased the best of sustainable dining in NYC.

Last but certainly not least, we had a fantastic group of green writers, editors and talent to fill our intimate space. They came from groups such as The Daily Green, MNN, Care2, On Earth magazine, Huffington Post, and even a former Top Chef contestant. In summary, the NYC Launch Party succeeded in bringing together the sustainability community in an unforgettable celebration.
