While I was in Detroit for the North American International Auto Show (courtesy of Ford Motor Company just sent me to report, not compensated by them) I couldn’t help but notice the SLS AMG E-CELL. It’s an all electric super sports car boasting a power output of 525 hp (392 kW) and 649 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque! YEAH!! We are talking high-voltage lithium-ion batteries. We are getting 400 V and 40 Ah with the SLS AMG E-CELL drive.
The electric-drive SLS is part of the “AMG Performance 2015” strategy for the continual reduction of fuel consumption and emissions.

The S400 Hybrid is equipped with lithium-ion batteries and works in combination with a 20-horsepower electric motor and a 275-hp, 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine. It delivers a measly EPA mileage ratings of 19 MPG city and 26 MPG highway. However, I have to give credit to Mercedes on their sustainable interior.

The Festival, which runs from January 6-17, 2011, starts the winter awards season with a spectacular program of films and a celebrity filled red-carpet gala.

ML450 HYBRID 46 Percent Better Fuel Economy; however, Let’s See The Numbers..

The ML450 HYBRID SUV delivers certified super-ultra-low emissions (SULEV) for the M-Class. With the hybrid electric vehicle technology, you get a 3.5-liter V-6 engine and dual electric motors for a combined 335 hp. That’s about 20% more fuel efficient than the V6-powered ML350.
According to Mercedes:
Making its West Coast debut at the L.A. Auto Show, the Mercedes-Benz ML450 HYBRID uses a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine, two electric motors and sophisticated electronics to produce more than 46 percent better fuel economy than a comparable V8-powered ML550 model.
