Historic Agreement Signed to Restore Northern Arizona Forests

Conservationists, scientists, industry representatives, community leaders and the U.S. Forest Service have signed an historic agreement to restore ponderosa pine forests in four national forests in northern Arizona.
More than 20 organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Four Forest Restoration Initiative Collaborative Stakeholder Group and the Apache-Sitgreaves, Coconino, Kaibab and Tonto National Forests.
“The MOU represents many long hours, days and months of work and collaboration between the Forest Service and stakeholders who are vested in restoring Arizona forests,” said Coconino National Forest Supervisor Earl Stewart. “The signing of this document illustrates how different people and organizations with varying viewpoints can come together and work toward an extremely important and common goal.”

THINK Indiana Electric Vehicle Rollout in the Midwest

THINK and ITOCHU Corporation announce an expanded partnership for marketing and distribution of the THINK City electric vehicle (EV) and EV drive system in Asia.
History of the THINK ITOCHU Alliance
The two companies have been in a cooperative relationship since 2009, through a number of market-leading demonstration projects in association with THINK’s award-winning lithium-ion battery partner, Ener1, Inc..
These projects have served as valuable test-beds to validate how battery, vehicle and grid technology function together in real-world environments. Using the Ener1 battery and THINK drive-train technology, a fleet of Mazda 2 vehicles was electrified for trial in the project in under three months.

The savannas of Africa are home to a diverse animal and plant life. However, extensive agriculture threatens biodiversity. In Biodiversity (English Biodiversity, composed of the words “Biology” and “diversity”) refers to the biological diversity at all organizational levels of life – in the ways in which genetic diversity of fauna and flora as well as in all ecosystems. These three levels are closely linked: animals and plants need to survive intact ecosystems, and adequate genetic variability.
An ecosystem in turn only works if it is home to a range of species. Intact habitats are essential for the genetic diversity of an ecosystem. If this balance is disrupted by external influences, it often has unexpected consequences for people, plants and animals.
