Delphi Automotive introduced a new range of Liquid Cooled Charge Air Coolers (LCCACs) for an engine. All aimed at helping global vehicle manufacturers produce environmentally friendly vehicles. That’s with better engine performance. Unlike traditional air-cooled units, the new coolers offer better packaging. Also improved engine response, faster warm-up, and lower losses. Now they don’t sell those products.
So even though Delphi is out of it the market is going to explode for this product. Read on folks!
Downsized Engines with Turbo- or Super-Charging
Downsized engines are growing in popularity among vehicle manufacturers. In addition, boosted by turbo- or super-charging. So they give the performance feel of a larger engine with the emissions and fuel savings of a smaller one. However, boosting compresses the air entering the engine, which significantly increases air temperature, reducing combustion efficiency and eroding the performance improvement.
Liquid Cooled System
Compared to an air-to-air charge cooler, the liquid-cooled system responds better to sudden throttle demand, and the intake air stays cooler during acceleration. This helps diesel and gasoline engine manufacturers meet stringent emissions regulations and improve engine power by keeping the air cooler and thereby reducing combustion temperature.
Growing Market for Automotive Charge Air Cooler
The automotive charge air cooler market is rapidly growing, with the air-cooled segment accounting for the largest market share in 2022, according to a report by Market Research Future. Delphi’s LCCACs are a step forward in the development of environmentally friendly vehicles with better engine performance.
TODAY Delphi Out but!
According to the research report, the global automotive charge air cooler market size was valued at USD 3,094.96 Million in 2022. In addition, it is expected to reach USD 6,162.61 Million by 2032, growing at a CAGR of 7.1% during the forecast period.
