Holiday Charity Promotion Honeydrop Aims to Aid in Efforts

Honeydrop Beverages recently launched a new campaign.  It’s to support the conservation of bees. They most notably made the decision to participate in the annual “Honey!” event at UC Davis.  One which celebrates honey and bees.  It also includes talks, honey contests, and finally tastings. Honeydrop’s aim was to generate excitement for the upcoming holiday season.  Most notably in collaboration with UC Davis.

Honeydrop has recently introduced their “Buy a Bottle – Save a Bee” program.  This program aims to support local beekeepers.  That’s especially in maintaining and creating new beehives.  All in order to combat Colony Collapse Disorder. They are now excited to announce their new holiday gifting charity initiative.  This initiative aims to gather donations for UC Davis Honeybee Research.  All to aid in saving the bees. This campaign was established following their previous “Buy a Bottle – Save a Bee” initiative.  One which we featured on the Green Living Guy website.

According to the CEO and Founder of Honeydrop, David Luks, they are committed to aiding in the research, outreach, and education initiatives at UC Davis.  Especially those that aim to improve our understanding and also support for honey bees. The absence of honeybees not only means a lack of honey.  That’s because it also is a scarcity of almonds, melons, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and other essential components of our food system. Therefore, it is crucial to recognize the importance of honeybees in our food chain.

Starting from the year 2006, there has been a significant decline in the number of honeybees, with an estimated 30% loss annually due to various factors collectively referred to as CCD.

Interested in contributing to bee conservation efforts?

Honeydrop encourages individuals to make a difference in the bee population by donating at http://www.honeydrop.com/savethebees.

The initial 100 individuals who give $100 or more will be given a unique Honeydrop gift bag filled with Honeydrop merchandise and equipment, an authorized “Save the Bees” certificate, and presents from Honeydrop’s partnering local beekeepers. The entire amount of this financial contribution will be given to UC Davis to aid in honey bee research, with the exception of any fees incurred by PayPal.

Honeydrop equals bee conservation

As I have stated before, with over 200 hives under his watchful eye and a family beekeeping business based in Fairfield County, CT, Coté is a true steward of these industrious pollinators. Every Wednesday, you can find him at the Union Square Greenmarket, sharing the liquid gold produced by his buzzing companions.

“We are concerned about the plight of honey bees and proud to support research, outreach and education efforts at UC Davis that helps to better understand and support bees,” says Honeydrop CEO and Founder, David Luks. “Without honeybees, not only is there no honey, but also no almonds, no melons, no tomatoes, no sweet potatoes…they truly are an integral part of our food chain.”

Finally, since 2006, the honeybee population has been diminishing at an alarming rate.  That’s with nearly 30% of honeybees lost each year to a spectrum of causes, widely known as CCD.
