Now I’ve worked with Ford Motor Company for a long time on electric car technology but vehicle to grid is the other level. Sometimes good and not but at least they are moving the ball forward now.
Ford seems to be working closely with other automakers on integration of software technology to allow your plug-in electric vehicles to “talk” to local energy companies via the cloud.

You’ve got enough to think about — your job, your family, your to-do list. So let Ford help manage your energy usage.
Ford Motor Company and other automakers are working on technology that allows your plug-in electric vehicles to “talk” to local energy companies via the cloud. This could be a big helping hand for power grids across the country.
Imagine you come home and plug in your electric car, but the power grid you’re on is close to capacity. This could be easily solved if utility companies could send a message to all electric cars in the area and request that they pause charging. In doing so, we can quickly and easily reduce pressure on the grid and keep things running smoothly.
Ford could achieve this by taking advantage of pre-existing technology, such as Ford’s MyFord® Mobile App. By using the app as a two-way communications system between the grid and the car, Ford could easily and efficiently save you time and money while you save the planet.
