Did you know that National Volunteer Week, National Park Week, and Earth Day are all coming up in April? Spring is upon us and in the spirit of inspiring and encouraging people to seek ways to help the planet. Therefore, in our national parks, a new mobile game launched earlier this month, “Save the Park.”
American Express partnered with Games for Change, the leading global advocate for the power of games as drivers of social impact, to create a mobile game benefiting the National Parks Service called “Save the Park.” Available on iOS (FREE!), “Save the Park” is designed to galvanize the public, particularly the next generation, to volunteer in the preservation of their national parks. To drive additional resources to the cause, the American Express Foundation will make a $1 donation to the National Park Foundation. That’s for each download of “Save the Park,” occurring on or before December 31, 2016, up to $50,000.
In advance of National Volunteer Week (April 10-16), National Park Week (April 16-24), and Earth Day (April 22), I would love to work with you on a story about how “Save the Park” can serve as a ‘virtual’ first step to converting game players into real-world volunteers, just in time for these upcoming events.
