SEIA says New York Should be Applauded for Setting a 50 Percent Clean Energy Standard

New York State just passed a clean energy standard. This is a big deal for New York State. It’s about time.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following is a statement from Sean Gallagher, vice president of state affairs at the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), on the New York Public Service Commission’s approval of a 50 percent Clean Energy Standard by 2030:
“The solar industry applauds Governor Cuomo and the New York Public Service Commission, chaired by Audrey Zibelman. All for their bold efforts to transform New York into a clean energy powerhouse. Based on today’s Commission session, a 50 percent Clean Energy Standard (CES). For this is a huge win for New Yorkers. Moreover and solar power is going to be key in making this win a reality.”
“With this vote, the Empire State is sending a strong message to the rest of the nation that it’s time to replace dirty energy with clean, reliable, affordable 21st century solutions. Especially like solar. As the implementation process begins, SEIA looks forward to working with Governor Cuomo. In addition, the Commission. All to ensure the new policy meets the 50 percent goal.”
