The World Ocean Summit took place March 7-9 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, World Ocean Summit. It is the most diverse and important global gathering on the ocean.
Political leaders and policymakers, heads of global business, scientists, NGOs and multilaterals. All representing over 50 countries. For they have gathered for a frank and forward-looking discussion. Especially on how to turn pledges about sustainable development of the ocean into reality.
Over the course of three days, the fifth World Ocean Summit invited participants from around the world. All to evaluate strategies and devise new solutions to urgent problems in the ocean.
More than 70 world leaders spoke at the event. For they are including Enrique Peña-Nieto, the President of Mexico; Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, the President of Iceland. That’s as well as members of businesses and organizations including the European Investment Bank, the Ocean Conservancy, UN Environment, Adidas and Coca-Cola.
In conclusion, the World Ocean Summit held a number of organizations. For they also announced initiatives and news. For that’s including The Nature Conservancy, XL Catlin and The Environmental Defense Fund. In addition, the announcements set the stage for the next phase of improvement. For that’s real business innovation in regards to the world’s oceans.
