Hege Sæbjørnsen, Sustainability Manager at IKEA UK agreed. At IKEA, their commitment is to sustainability. This goes beyond minimizing the impact of their own operations. It’s by having a positive impact on the world around us. We want to give our customers creative solutions. Solutions that will help them live a more sustainable life. A life at home and to save money in the short and long-term. By partnering with the Big Clean Switch, IKEA is switching to renewable electricity simple, accessible and affordable to everyone.
Last year, IKEA UK introduced home solar panels and battery storage (SOLSTRÅLE) into their product range. This is in a bid to make solar more accessible. More importantly to support home owners towards becoming energy independent.
Therefore, for every switch, IKEA will receive a commission payment. This payment will support local community initiatives. At the end of the campaign the commission will be split among IKEA UK stores. The amount each store gets depends on ones generating the most switches. Therefore, the money is for local community initiatives within each store’s area.
