Firstly, World Water Week was August 26th to 31st. However, It is always a good time to talk about water. Water scarcity allows us to get people to focus on the challenge of water scarcity. You know, water regularly is getting lost. It’s how it affects many parts of the U.S. More noteworthy how we can all make a big impact. It’s so simple folks to change simple everyday habits such as:

• Take shorter showers: The average shower lasts 8.2 minutes. Worse and more noteworthy, wastes 17.2 gallons of water.  So Cutting showers down to 5 minutes can save at least 6 gallons of water.

Water scarcity

• Repair leaky faucets: A dripping faucet wastes 5 gallons of water a day so make sure to repair faucets as soon as leaks begin!

• Only run the dishwasher when full: The average dishwasher uses between 4 and 6 gallons of water per cycle, so try to avoid running half-full cycles.

Over the last year, Colgate’s Every Drop Counts program leading to a reduction of about 50 billion gallons of water globally.  According to a study conducted in April 2018, nearly three out of four Americans who were aware of the program say they influenced to save water. Of that group, 58% stated that after hearing our message they now turn off the faucet more often while brushing their teeth.
