To begin, AAA has a Top Ten list. That’s from which the award winner will come.  You’ll see that six of the top ten are EVs. The list is a mix of electric, hybrid, and high-mileage gas-powered vehicles.  Therefore, these vehicles range from luxury to economical.

First off, low-emission vehicles and hybrid choices vary in quality, price, and size.

Seems a survey of AAA members in the market to buy a vehicle indicated they want green. An overwhelming 86% said that it was important or very important to understand the technology. Therefore, the AAA Green Car Guide is one of our Automotive Research Center’s ongoing programs. Programs to help consumers navigate the increasingly wide-ranging green car marketplace with confidence.

Each year, AAA’s automotive research team and its automotive research center identify and tests dozens of vehicles.  All that meet its “green” criteria.  But we add a family-friendly component, too.  These vehicles were tested and scored in 13 categories: braking, fuel economy, emissions, handling, cargo capacity, and ride comfort. The top ten total scoring vehicles are listed below.

In conclusion, the Automotive Research Center is part of the Automobile Club of Southern California. Thereby the largest member of the AAA federation.

Finally, the research center has a 49-year history of automotive research. So that’s even with alternative fuel vehicles. As well, it therefore shares its research results with members and the public.
