So, more than 400 guests gathered at an exclusive hilltop estate in Laguna Beach. In addition and overlooking the majestic Pacific Ocean. Thereby to celebrate the world’s oceans.

So it takes visitors on a tour of the Arctic.  It will is highlighting the impacts of climate change on melting sea ice. As well as back then ocean acidification. This year’s benefit focused on the plague most noteworthy and ocean plastic pollution. All in addressing the enormous problem of single-use plastic pollution. Consequently, 90 percent of all the plastic ever made is not recycled. As well as plastic production is expected to quadruple by 2050.

Oceana secures policy victories protecting the oceans against plastic. So far in Peru, Belize and Europe.

In conclusion, this party included SeaChange silent and live auctions. Consequently, they also included a wide array of exclusive items. Most interestingly including a BMW 745e Luxury Hybrid car.

The Los Angeles City Council approved moving forward with the Los Angeles Green Business Certification Program. The City of Los Angeles’ initiative, to be administered by the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), will provide information on how to identify a green business and how businesses can adopt sustainable practices. One of the aims is to enable consumers to support firms that strive to protect the environment. The program was announced at a news conference at Ciudad restaurant. Green Seal, Inc., the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Green Globe and dineLA, a part of LA INC, The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau will join the LACCD in its work on this effort.
Joe Veilleux doesn’t view himself as an environmentalist, but he understands how his actions might paint him with that brush. “I’m not an environmentalist,” said Veilleux, general manager of the U.S. operations of natural health ingredient manufacturer Euromed. “I’m a pragmatist. There’s a difference. A lot of environmentalists have characterized their cause as one that pits them directly against corporate America. I’m part of corporate America, but I also recognize the debt I owe to the environment and want to do my fair share to protect it. In the long run, it’s just good for business and there are plenty of examples throughout history of how our environment is one of our most valuable natural resources.” Veilleux’s company is partner with the Everglades Foundation in a campaign dubbed Glade-iator (www.glade-iator.org), which is a model of the public-private partnership Veilleux believes is good for business.
