Zac Posen Brings Sustainability

As I would also say: Zac Posen brings sustainability to fashion. Most notably with Bailey Bass and Chloe East. They shined on the red carpet at the 95th Academy Awards. Both were also representing Suzy Amis Cameron’s RCGD Global initiative. For this year, it’s in collaboration with TENCEL™. Especially with this year’s focus on more noteworthy: accessible textile solutions. I mean they were made through sustainable processes. That’s essentially to reduce waste and also create a positive impact.

In addition, Bailey Bass wearing a Zac Posen custom couture gown. It’s also made from TENCEL™ LUXE filament yarns of botanic origin. It’s also created using only four cuts of fabric. The ethereal couture piece is a simplistic gesture. For its a cream, open-back bias halter gown. I mean that’s hot! That’s also with off-the-shoulder cuffed poet sleeves.

Bailey Bass

Bailey Bass is an American actress. Now she’s starring as T’sireya in blockbuster and Oscars nominated ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’. Styled by Andrew Gelwicks, Bailey Bass wore Zac Posen custom couture gown. This one is inspired by Bailey’s poise and also confidence. Using sustainable TENCEL™ LUXE filaments in partnership with RCGD Global and TENCEL™.  In addition, the gown displays Bailey’s natural beauty and the will to preserve the beauty of nature. The actress combined the beautiful gown with droplet diamond earrings from The Diamond Lab, a jewelry brand that works exclusively with Lab Grown Diamonds.

Chloe East stars in Steven Spielberg’s Oscars-nominated ‘The Fablemans’ opposite Paul Dano, Michelle Williams and Seth Rogen. She was recently seen in the new HBO Max series GENERA+ION. Styled by Molly Dickson, Chloe East wore a Monique Lhuillier gown created in Monique Lhuillier’s vertical Los Angeles atelier with local dedicated artisans. Patterns and fabrics were reworked and re-purposed to create this custom look. A dramatic elongated velvet bodice was reimagined and customized from Lhuillier’s Fall 2019 Collection with an architectural A-line ball gown skirt, along with a bow detail with sweeping ties to complete the look. Chloe East combined the timeless gown with both modern and vintage jewels, keeping the look classic but still young and fresh.

RCGD Global

Partnering for a fourth consecutive year at the 95th Academy Awards ® the RCGD Global and TENCEL™ annual partnership produces occasionwear using fibers and filaments with certified botanic origins. To qualify as an RCGD Global eco-conscious garment. For each piece should be made from sustainable elements – including organic, recycled, or repurposed materials. Other features include using hand-made craftsmanship details or small local production with a dedicated focus on the minimal negative impact on the environment and people. The campaign focuses on social elements of sustainability including human resources, community impact, value cycle, and legal frameworks.

Zac Posen Using TENCEL

“It’s been an honour to dress Bailey Bass for her first Oscars in Collaboration with RCGD Global and TENCEL™️, which aims to shine a light and celebrate eco-couture on the red carpet. This very special gown was created using TENCEL™️ LUXE filament yarns that are derived from sustainably sourced wood, offering a beautiful draped botanic alternative to silk. It’s been very fulfilling to create a unique piece of art with true purpose.” — Zac Posen

“For Chloe East’s Oscar look, I created a dramatic, sculptural modern ball gown. I’m also using a vintage piece from my collection and reimagining a new skirt design. That’s incorporating sustainable fabrics in the bow detail. Sustainability is also something I am passionate about without compromising design..” — Monique Lhuillier
