Trump War on Wind Energy
President Donald Trump once again waged his war on wind energy. For Trump waged war and launched air aerial assault on wind turbines and green tax credits. On June 21, 2025, he took to Truth Social to blast renewable energy incentives. He called them a “giant SCAM” and claimed he “HATED” the green provisions tucked inside what he once supported—the so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill.” Despite initially championing parts of the bill, Trump now wants to strip it of its clean energy funding.

Green Energy in His Crosshairs
Trump didn’t hold back. He specifically targeted wind turbines, repeating false claims they kill large numbers of birds. He also slammed their appearance, calling them “ugly.” Over the years, Trump has made wind energy a favorite punching bag. But this time, he escalated things by directly calling for an end to clean energy tax breaks.
Republicans Back Rollback Efforts
This attack didn’t come in isolation. It aligns with Republican efforts in Congress to roll back key parts of the Inflation Reduction Act. The new proposal, known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” aims to phase out clean energy tax credits for wind, solar, electric vehicles, and energy-efficient homes. Republicans argue the cuts will reduce spending and restore fiscal order. However, many see it as a direct hit to climate progress.
Experts Warn of Consequences
Economists and clean energy leaders quickly responded. They warned the rollback could jeopardize over $500 billion in future investment. At the same time, industry groups said it might threaten 830,000 jobs by 2030. Some experts fear the U.S. will fall behind in global clean energy innovation. Others say power bills could rise if renewable projects are canceled or delayed.
Trump War on Wind Energy Promises to Defund Renewables
Trump’s post ended with a vow to defund what he called “wasteful” green programs. Although he did not detail a replacement, his message was clear. If re-elected, he plans to halt public investment in renewable energy. His campaign increasingly targets climate policies passed during the Biden administration.
The Stakes for Climate and Economy
Since 2022, green tax credits have fueled rapid expansion in wind and solar. They also helped boost domestic manufacturing and lower emissions. But Trump’s plan could reverse that momentum. Many environmental groups now say the upcoming election may decide the future of America’s clean energy path.
Although Trump’s war on wind energy is not new, it carries weight after passage of the Big Bill. As his party moves to dismantle green funding, the nation faces a stark choice. Should it press forward with renewables—or return to fossil fuel dependence?
