Eco Forum: Uniting Sustainable Minds and Ideas

🌿 Eco-Chic Networking: A Night of Green Glamour at NYC’s Eco Forum 🌟

Picture this: The crème de la crème of the eco-business world, gathered in one room, buzzing with sustainable energy and innovative ideas. That’s exactly what went down at the Eco Forum in New York City, and let me tell you, it was a night to remember!

🍽️ Setting the Scene: Rouge Tomate

Our eco-extravaganza kicked off at Rouge Tomate, nestled in the heart of Manhattan between Madison and Fifth Avenue. This isn’t just any restaurant – it’s a beacon of sustainable dining:

  1. Executive Chef Jeremy Bearman crafts modern American cuisine that’s as kind to your taste buds as it is to Mother Earth.
  2. As a proud member of The Green Restaurant Association, Rouge Tomate sets the gold standard for eco-conscious dining.
  3. From energy-efficient equipment to certified woods and composting, every detail screams “green”!
  4. Their proprietary SPE (Sourcing, Preparing, Enhancing) guideline ensures each dish is a nutritional powerhouse.

👔 Networking in Eco Style

Eco forum go green expo

The Go Green Expo, masterfully hosted by Bradford Rand and Seth Berk. For they have transformed speed networking into an art form. CEOs and executives from across the green spectrum connected, shared, and innovated in real-time. We even spotted Whole Foods’ energy efficiency leader Mrs. Kathy Loftus! (Psst… we’re working on snagging an interview with her, so stay tuned!)

💎 Donna Distefano: Redefining Eco Jewelry

Meet Donna Distefano, the maestro behind Donna Distefano Ltd. She’s not just creating jewelry; she’s crafting a revolution:

  1. Fair Trade gemstones and recycled precious metals? Check!
  2. Handcrafted in her NYC Atelier using centuries-old techniques? Double-check!
  3. Her client list? A who’s who of entertainment, sports, and fashion royalty.
  4. From the Met to the modern luxury market, Donna’s bringing eco-bling to the masses!

🧻 Marcal: Turning Trash into Treasure

Who knew toilet paper could be so exciting? Marcal is changing the game with 100% recycled content:

  1.  Junk mail, office waste, and printer scraps get a second life as TP and paper towels.
  2. It’s a win-win: less landfill waste, more trees saved!

But wait, there’s more! After some digging, we uncovered Marcal’s commitment to continuous improvement:

  1.  They’ve faced challenges (like that EPA lawsuit), but they’re pushing forward.
  2. 100% recycled content is their north star, even if some products are still on the journey.
  3. Transparency is key – we’re all about progress, not perfection!

🥂 The Verdict

As the night wound down (thanks for the nudge, Nicole Boyer!), one thing was clear: the future of business is green, and it’s absolutely dazzling. From sustainable dining to eco-jewelry and even earth-friendly TP, innovation is blooming in every sector.

So, here’s to the changemakers, the eco-warriors, and yes, even the toilet paper revolutionaries. You’re not just doing business – you’re crafting a sustainable future, one brilliant idea at a time.

Stay green, stay gorgeous, and keep pushing those eco-boundaries! 🌍✨

Great comment. Thank you. However, now based on your comment we can get Marcall to be more green. I will read up on it and tell you what I think. However, recycled content is a good start but there will be NO white washing going on here.Best,Seth

OK. Did the research. Here we go. The US EPA did sue Marcal regarding the pollution the Passaic River from Diamod Alkali Superfund Site. The U.S. government had originally sought damages of $946 million, Marcal settled for $3 million. Here’s the thing, they are doing 100% recycled content and they are one of the few companies doing that. I would only guess that Marcal recognized what they did and are moving forward to do great things. That is all anyone can ask of them; right?

What does the 100% recycled content mean when I have heard that the facial tissue only contains 30% post-consumer material and that the paper towels are 70%? I’m all for saving trees, but I’m not a fan of fooling the public.
