Holding An Eco Party tomorrow for Earth Day Celebrations!

At the Ossining Childrens Center Annual Fundraiser at Trump National Golf Course I had a table for a 20 person eco party. IT was won by three women, that I will be hosting an eco party for at their house. Well tomorrow is the big day to finally host that eco party and it’s gonna be great.  Already have so much information, donated products and people coming to make the event a success.

My buddy Evette Rios fromthe Rachel Ray show has graciously helped to make sure that everything meets up to her standards and approval.  My friend Heather Flournoy from Katonah Green is helping me out with the local organic foods.  A Lot To Say provided some great clothing, umbrellas and totes.  That’ll make a great impression since most people I know have only said great things about the line.  While some think that it’s too in your face, most people can’t complain about the quality of the product and all it stands for.  100% recycled plastic, 0% water used to make the shirt and Made in the USA.

Also, I have things like a book from Stephanie Iris Weiss called Eco Sex (I like that !!!).  As well, there is so much information that needs to be talked about.  Anyone that wants to contribute, please let me know.

To spruce up New York City with even more greenery this spring, the New York Restoration Project has partnered with leading online charity auction site, charitybuzz.com, for the first annual Earth Day Auction. The Los Angeles City Council approved moving forward with the Los Angeles Green Business Certification Program. The City of Los Angeles’ initiative, to be administered by the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), will provide information on how to identify a green business and how businesses can adopt sustainable practices. One of the aims is to enable consumers to support firms that strive to protect the environment. The program was announced at a news conference at Ciudad restaurant. Green Seal, Inc., the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Green Globe and dineLA, a part of LA INC, The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau will join the LACCD in its work on this effort.
Joe Veilleux doesn’t view himself as an environmentalist, but he understands how his actions might paint him with that brush. “I’m not an environmentalist,” said Veilleux, general manager of the U.S. operations of natural health ingredient manufacturer Euromed. “I’m a pragmatist. There’s a difference. A lot of environmentalists have characterized their cause as one that pits them directly against corporate America. I’m part of corporate America, but I also recognize the debt I owe to the environment and want to do my fair share to protect it. In the long run, it’s just good for business and there are plenty of examples throughout history of how our environment is one of our most valuable natural resources.” Veilleux’s company is partner with the Everglades Foundation in a campaign dubbed Glade-iator (www.glade-iator.org), which is a model of the public-private partnership Veilleux believes is good for business.
