Conergy Solar Large Projects Group signs over 5 MW of Solar Projects

Conergy’s Solar Large Projects Group continues to lead in the project development services for solar energy projects. In the past month, Conergy has signed more than 5 MW worth of solar energy deals. Conergy will offer its expertise and services in planning, financing, engineering, procurement, construction, permitting and O&M.

The projects that Conergy has signed includes four different projects totalling over 3 MW in California, one of the country’s leading solar energy states. In northern California, Conergy will act as the project developer and offer EPC services in an agriculture ground mount installation. In central California, Conergy has signed a ground mount and car port installation in both the education and government sectors. In addition, Conergy will be the project manager and offer EPC services for an agricultural ground mount and roof top installation.

To spruce up New York City with even more greenery this spring, the New York Restoration Project has partnered with leading online charity auction site, charitybuzz.com, for the first annual Earth Day Auction. The Los Angeles City Council approved moving forward with the Los Angeles Green Business Certification Program. The City of Los Angeles’ initiative, to be administered by the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), will provide information on how to identify a green business and how businesses can adopt sustainable practices. One of the aims is to enable consumers to support firms that strive to protect the environment. The program was announced at a news conference at Ciudad restaurant. Green Seal, Inc., the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Green Globe and dineLA, a part of LA INC, The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau will join the LACCD in its work on this effort.
Joe Veilleux doesn’t view himself as an environmentalist, but he understands how his actions might paint him with that brush. “I’m not an environmentalist,” said Veilleux, general manager of the U.S. operations of natural health ingredient manufacturer Euromed. “I’m a pragmatist. There’s a difference. A lot of environmentalists have characterized their cause as one that pits them directly against corporate America. I’m part of corporate America, but I also recognize the debt I owe to the environment and want to do my fair share to protect it. In the long run, it’s just good for business and there are plenty of examples throughout history of how our environment is one of our most valuable natural resources.” Veilleux’s company is partner with the Everglades Foundation in a campaign dubbed Glade-iator (www.glade-iator.org), which is a model of the public-private partnership Veilleux believes is good for business.
