Faith has lived in Darby Township, for forty-three years. She is an Ordained Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, and professional Christian writer. Since she was picked from over 290,000 entries she believes it was no coincidence, but as her namesake states – a gift based on her strong faith.
“God has worked a miracle because he knew I was going to bless others with my prize,” Faith explains.
In February 2011 Faith’s sister Irene died from colon cancer at 47, leaving behind six children ranging in age from 12 to 26 and their father, a state trooper in NJ.
“[My sister] lived for her family,” said Faith. “They took vacations all the time; even in the weeks before she died she was thinking about where she was going to take the kids on vacation.”
Faith will be accompanied by her mother, aunt, and her two eldest nieces to the location of her choice – The Grand Canyon, a place she has wanted to visit her whole life.
