To begin, this is a Statement from Madeline Page, Campaign Coordinator, Public Citizen. This statement is about Clean Cars rollback efforts by Trump Administration.

March 23, 2018

Note: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt is as soon as next week to reverse the agency’s previous conclusion that America’s standards for clean cars are working and achievable. This comes at the behest of automakers and without any change in the facts, ignoring the thousands of pages of research and analysis that support keeping the standards.

Though we have yet to see the draft decision that is to the White House’s Office of Management and Budget, if Scott Pruitt’s track record of reckless deregulation is any indicator, we have reason to be deeply concerned.

Pruitt and President Donald Trump have met with automakers repeatedly since arriving in office. Ford and other automakers have attacked the standards at every turn – most recently using their trade association to publish regulatory comments to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that cast doubt on commonly accepted climate science and the link between air pollution and adverse health impacts.

Therefore, Pruitt is pandering to auto executives. He also doing this at the cost of Americans. It seems that any move by this administration to weaken or undo the clean car standards is what? Yes, a move that will cost American families thousands at the pump. It will therefore allow automakers to make dirtier cars that pollute our air and harm our health. To even the Green Living Guy that is unacceptable.
