The Green Living Guy

Vestas has received a 71 MW order from VALOREM, a major player in the French wind energy market, for the Saunamaa and Suolakangas wind projects located in southern Finland. The wind parks are VALOREM’s first in Finland.

What I like about this story is the project is catered to the location / locale.  It will maximize power production and cater for local tip height requirements in the area.  So the Saunamaa project will feature a customized Vestas solution.  For that’s including eight V150-4.2 MW wind turbines.  For they are with a 135m hub height.  That’s most noteworthy and again it is specifically developed for the site. The Suolakangas project also comprises nine V150-4.2 MW turbines.  For they are featuring Vestas’ standard towers. All the while these turbines are with a hub height of 155m.Vestas V150 4.2Mw

For they are located in Finland, the sites’ cold climate conditions are dealt with through Vestas’ Anti-Icing-SystemTM.

For it is one that efficiently manages ice formation on blades.  All the while during operation to maximize energy production.

Targeting icing only where and when it is needed.  Yet it minimizes the system’s power consumption.  Finally and also maximizes the effective climatic operating range.

In conclusion, the order includes supply and commissioning of the wind turbines.  Moreover a full-scope service agreement (AOM 5000) for 25 years. Deliveries are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2020.  All the while commissioning is planned for the third quarter of 2020.
