As we know folks, the impacts of climate change are here. Also it worsens and affects every country. But the harsh reality is that its effects won’t be felt equally.

So the map below highlights that climate change is caused primarily by rich, technologically advanced nations. However its impact will hit the poorest nations hardest. Most European and North American countries are better prepared and less vulnerable. Vulnerable to the effects of climate change are countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. All exhibiting a dangerous combination. One of high vulnerability and low preparation.

So The Eco Experts made the map which visualizes data from the University of Notre Dame. Seems that they have a Global Adaptation Index. Furthermore, the Index is published annually since 1995. It consequently analyses 192 countries. All on 45 internal and external indicators of climate change exposure.

The Index is built on two variables; ‘vulnerability’ and ‘readiness’. Thereby where a country gets a separate mark for each. These scores tally up to produce an overall total. A total finally indicating how the nation would fare.

The findings highlight that richer countries need to do more. More to support poorer nations. Thereby helping them prepare for the severe impacts of climate change.

In conclusion, eight out of the top ten countries need help. Worst part is they are considered most at risk from climate change. That’s from the index are located in Africa. Hurricanes, earthquakes, droughts and flooding are all real dangers for some of these areas. Also, compounded by a lack of national strategy to counteract the effects. Chad ranked lowest on the index. Thereby it is suggesting Chad will be the country. The country therefore hardest hit by impacts of climate change.

Finally, Seven out the top ten countries considered least at risk from climate change by the index are from Europe. Seems like Norway ranks top of the index. Most noteworthy they have been since the index started in 1995. These countries cannot become complacent. Therefore they must continue to prepare for the impacts of climate change.
