Most of the things people enjoy tend to be at the expense of the environment. For example, if you check correctly, you’ll realize that most clubs are behind a lot of pollution we see today. The bottles left behind after people enjoy their drinks are responsible for this. Unfortunately, many people do not care about properly disposing of the bottles and packaging they use after they have consumed the alcohol.

But the truth is that taking your favorite beer or whisky should not be the reason behind a deteriorating environment. Instead, there should be a compromise that ensures you get the best of both worlds. So, what are some of the different ways you can have your favorite alcoholic drink while at the same time protecting the environment? Here are specific tricks that work every time.

Be Creative with Cocktails

Even as you enjoy your bottle of Chivas brother, make sure to put it to good use. You may not always finish the drink in one sit-down, but this does not mean you should throw away the leftovers. Doing so may mean opening a different bottle the next time you want to indulge, which is wasteful and leads to more energy consumption and pollution. Instead, get creative and come up with cocktail mixes at home.

Use pineapple rind, leftover watermelon, pieces of lime and lemon, and any other ingredients that would help create the perfect cocktail. It all needs you to be creative and open-minded, and you will make a unique drink without wasting a lot of ingredients that end up causing pollution. Infuse these cocktail drinks with fruit zest and create your unique names for the drinks if you want.

Stock Up and Drink Locals and Sustainable Booze

Usually, many bar owners tend to bring in foreign alcohol to entice customers and keep them coming. However, getting the exotic brands into a local pub means being transported from their origin. This means there will be a lot of pollution as the drinks are transported to the local area. On the other hand, sticking on local booze means that you serve customers what is locally available, and you are less likely to incur a lot of transportation. The less the product moves, the less the environment is polluted since little to no emissions occur.

Recycle the Packaging

Most of the alcoholic beverages come in glass containers. Instead of throwing these away, they can be recycled or repurposed and used differently. This means that less trash ends up in the streets and water sources, which happens with poor disposal of this packaging. Alternatively, the drinks could be packaged in biodegradable material that will decay and cause less harm to the environment.

Use Reusable Cups

Sometimes alcohol packaging is the problem because it is not reusable. Consider serving the drinks in biodegradable, reusable cups or disposable ones. This will ensure that less harmful byproducts from your drinking get to harm the environment when it finds its way out there. Pub owners and other drinking joints owners should be more responsible and ensure that all the used cups are disposed of appropriately. However, if this fails, they must serve clients using eco-friendly cups that will hurt the environment less.

Consider Drinking Neat Spirits

You should always follow the spirit guide. There are products whose production process leads to more carbon dioxide production compared to others. Neat spirits will emit less CO2 during production, making them a better choice if you are going green. Take more whisky if you aim to support environmentally friendly drinking.

Choose Cans Over Bottle

If you are an avid beer consumer, then there is a role you can play in eco-friendly beer consumption. For one, cans are easier to recycle compared to their glass counterparts. Cans are made of aluminum which is easy to recycle and reuse compared to glass which undergoes a serious recycling process to be useful again. If you are drinking from a local joint, skip the can and drink from a reusable mug. This way, there will be less waste in the environment, promoting a better and safer environment.

Consider the Manufacturing Process

You should promote and buy liquor that has been safely processed. There is a simple way to tell if the manufacturer cares for the environment depending on whether they used artificial chemicals, pesticides, and non-organic grains to process their products. Other practices such as saving on water during the distillation process showcase an eco-friendly approach in production.

Buy from companies that make deliberate moves to use eco-friendly techniques and ingredients in their production. Good companies observe measures and practices that promote sustainable distillation. A few certifications are given to outstanding companies that care for the environment as they do their business. Watch out for such companies and buy their products since they are supporters of better environments.

Research on Products

With a bit of curiosity, you can find a product that fits you and the environment. Some producers care enough to minimize pollution as they produce alcoholic drinks. Check how the ingredients are grown and harvested, as well as the distillation process. Also, consider the measures the producers take to better the environment as they produce the alcohol.

You may also discover that they are keen on suitable packaging and will undoubtedly use production techniques with fewer negative impacts on the environment. However, they are not very easy to find without a bit of research. Before trying out a new drink at your local pub, ensure to find out more about the company. Final Thoughts

It is possible to drink responsibly for your health as well as the environment. Simple changes such as shifting from one packaging to the next to make a difference. Try to go for easily recycled materials and use products whose safety standards are guaranteed during production. You do not have to do something extraordinary to support environmental wellbeing, and sometimes it is the small choices that make all the difference.
