Con Edison Plugs In Electric Vehicle Website

Con Edison has launched a new website (www.conEd.com/electricvehicles) to help people learn more about electric vehicles, how to keep them charged properly and how to decide which type best serves their travelling needs.
Con Edison introduced the new website as part of the company’s participation in this year’s New York International Auto Show April 22 to May 1 at the Jacob K. Javits Center.
“Customer education is important to the adoption of electric vehicles,” said John Shipman, who heads Con Edison’s EV programs. “Con Edison supports the adoption of electric cars. These vehicles are environmentally friendly and lessen our dependence on oil.”

Who would know better about “greening” you home more than students who are actually building a green home? 2011 Solar Decathlon competitor, Team Massachusetts—comprised of students from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and University of Massachusetts- Lowell, are working on an eco-friendly home design and construction and offer suggestions for Greener Grounds this Earth Day.

BP Commits to Early Restoration Projects Along Gulf Coast

BP Exploration & Production, Inc. (BP) today announced it has signed a ground breaking agreement with federal and state agencies that will accelerate work starting this year to restore areas of the Gulf of Mexico that were affected by the Deepwater Horizon accident.
The agreement commits up to $1 billion to projects that will restore injured natural resources in the Gulf at the earliest opportunity. It allows projects important to the Gulf’s recovery to begin now, as early restoration projects, rather than waiting for the Trustees to complete all of the Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) studies that are underway. The projects will undergo public review before they are funded, and priority will be assigned to projects aimed at improving areas that offer the greatest benefits to wildlife, habitat, and recreational use.
