Leviton and Ford’s EV Home Charging Station Earns Top UL Certifications
Leviton and Ford Motor Company have officially announced that their upgraded Ford Electric Vehicle (EV) Home Charging Station has earned full UL certification. It now meets the standards for UL 2231, UL 2251, and UL 2594—ensuring it qualifies as a high-performance, safe, and reliable electrical device.
Moreover, the charger complies with SAE J1772™ engineering standards and NEC 625 electrical codes—critical requirements for EV infrastructure safety and fire protection.
Industry Leaders Team Up on Safety

Fast, Efficient, and Eco-Conscious Charging
The Ford EV Home Charging Station delivers up to 32 amps at 240 volts AC, providing 7.7 kW of output. As a result, it can fully charge a Ford Focus Electric in just over three hours—more than four times faster than a standard portable charger.
Its eco-friendly design uses an enclosure made from 60% recycled materials and includes a low-energy standby mode. Together, these features reduce the charger’s carbon footprint by 50 to 80 percent.
Built for Real-World Reliability
The device includes an Auto-Restart feature that resumes charging automatically after a power outage. So even if your electricity blips during the night, your car will still be ready in the morning.
Ford and Leviton also designed the charger with a weatherproof NEMA Type 4 enclosure, making it ideal for outdoor installation. Whether it’s rain, snow, or freezing temperatures, the unit is built to perform.

Finally, the suggested retail price is $1,499. However, the charger features ADA-compliant design, a simple one-button interface, and best-in-class reliability—making it an essential upgrade for any Ford EV owner.
