FTA Safe
Part of the FTA’s Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) program, the 5312 grant funds are used to promote the development and demonstration of energy-efficient buses. These buses play a crucial role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable urban mobility. In addition, these funds support buses used in public transportation networks across various cities. They enhance the overall efficiency of transit systems while contributing to the reduction of air pollution and improving public health outcomes. By investing in advanced technologies and innovative designs, the program not only aims to modernize the fleet of public transit vehicles but also encourages the adoption of alternative fuels. Therefore, it fosters a greener, more vibrant community atmosphere.
