To celebrate July 4th, also known as Independence Day, and additionally to promote new financial incentives for New Yorkers eager to adopt solar energy solutions, the towns of Woodstock and Rosendale have enthusiastically signed up for the Solarize Hudson Valley initiative. Moreover, this program not only enables residents to access affordable solar power. It also offers enticing discounts for those who decide to enroll.
In fact, Solarize campaigns represent a vital component of New York’s Community Solar initiatives. These aim to make solar energy more accessible and cost-effective for all residents. This effectively fosters a greener future for the entire region.

According to local coordinator Kirk Ritchey, “We in Woodstock have studied this program in depth and, consequently, could not be more pleased to be chosen. Additionally, our town has been an early mover with renewable energy on public buildings; thus, it is timely to bring the opportunity to our residents and businesses. For us, it’s a powerful way of declaring our energy independence.”

The group offers time-limited discounts of up to 15 percent through November 15, 2015. This program benefits businesses and homeowners who choose solar energy. It reduces the “soft costs” of marketing. Additionally, it connects communities with pre-qualified installation firms. High-quality educational programs support this initiative. Sustainable Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountainkeeper lead the Solarize Solar Energy effort. Furthermore, this initiative is part of Mountainkeeper’s RenewableNY program. The New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) funds the three-year effort in the Hudson Valley and Southern Tier.
Kingston and other “green hub” communities of Rosendale-Woodstock, Warwick-Goshen, and Beacon are in so far. These showcase the wide reach of the Solarize Solar Energy initiative.
New York’s now Third in US for new solar capacity during the first quarter of 2015.
New York, notably, trailed only California and Nevada in Q1, according to the recently released U.S. Solar Market Insight Report. This report was compiled by GTM Research and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). It not only highlights the growth in solar energy adoption in these states, but it also emphasizes the significant investments and policy initiatives. These have, in turn, propelled New York into a prominent position within the solar market. With increasing public awareness of sustainability issues and state incentives promoting renewable energy, New York is, therefore, on a promising trajectory. It aims to bolster its solar capacity further. Subsequently, New York plays a crucial role in the nation’s transition to clean energy. Furthermore, Solarize Solar Energy is a key component of this strategy.
