To demonstrate the advantages of silent, Volvo electric buses. So first of all, Volvo presented a short film “Route 55.” This film shows a key moment in life. As well as and more importantly how easily it can be lost.
The film is promoting the ElectriCity Project. It’s a collaboration in which industry, research and society develop and test new solutions for public transport. So June 15 was the premiere in 2015 for a completely Volvo electric bus route. It’s therefore a new route in Gothenburg. All thereby with silent, emissions-free electric buses from Volvo.
“The Volvo Electric buses will open up entirely new opportunities in urban planning. The buses are able to drive indoors and collect passengers at locations that are currently off-limit for buses. The silent, electric motor creates a comfortable environment and this film is intended to demonstrate, in a light-hearted and engaging way, the important role a silent bus could play in one of life’s small but important moments,” says Volvo Group PR Manager Karin Wik.
In conclusion, the person behind the camera is photographer Henrik Hjort. That’s for whom this will be his first film. His commercial following including many years of experience in documentary film-making. Also in several productions for the Swedish public service television company, SVT. In addition, award-winning documentary film makers John Boisen and Björn Fävremark are responsible for its creation. Responsible for the manuscript and direction.
