Rivian to site new manufacturing plant in Georgia

Rivian’s got a plan.

For Rivian’s plan is to expand its manufacturing operations. I mean locating its second U.S. plant in the state of Georgia. For it’s a carbon-conscious campus. All is planned east of Atlanta. Located in Morgan and Walton Counties. The project also represents a $5-billion site development and manufacturing investment.

The plant intends to employ more than 7,500 workers. For it’s a key next step. Especially as Rivian scales aggressively. All toward higher-capacity production. Most importantly for their future generation of products.

Rivian Vehicles

As I’ve written before:

Rivian, an electric vehicle manufacturer. For it unveiled its highly anticipated Electric Adventure Vehicles TM. So that’s the R1T, an all-electric pickup and the R1S, an all-electric SUV. They did this in 2019 at events surrounding the LA Auto Show.

Please note and most noteworthy, this is also important because the F-150 and some serious amount of Amazon trucks. All will be built on this platform.

So once ramped, the Georgia facility will be capable. All of producing up to 400,000 vehicles per year. Construction on the facility is also expected soon. I mean like to begin in summer 2022. Finally and the start of production is slated for 2024.

Site Inclusion

Site considerations included logistics. Also the environmental impact and renewable energy production. Finally availability and quality of talent. Moreover and fit with Rivian company culture.

Rivian’s almost 2,000-acre parcel includes abundant natural space. Most importantly and workforce training programs in the area.

In addition, Rivian’s Normal plant was recently approved for a 623,000-square-foot expansion. All bringing the total footprint of the Normal plant to around 4 million square feet. Plus, with further plans to extend. I have heard that’s for the warehouse. Also the storage and production capacity onsite.

In addition, Rivian’s hiring in Normal is scaling rapidly. For that’s with plans to hire an additional 800-1,000 employees in Normal. All by the second quarter of 2022.

in addition, New Normal and Georgia-based positions are posted. I also learned any questions. Yes I mean on project RFIs, RFPs, and supply chain outreach go to georgia@rivian.com.

Town Halls

Rivian and Georgia are planning 2022 town hall events. All near the manufacturing site of the Rivian plant. That’s so that area residents can learn more. Especially about the company. Then also the site plan for Rivian’s plant.

Best part, Rivian plant employees enjoy industry-leading compensation. Also, generous benefits. Finally and equity in the company. That’s for every team member to drive a real sense of ownership. Individuals interested in career opportunities with Rivian are encouraged to search opportunities at rivian.com/careers. Finally, New Normal and Georgia-based positions were posted.
