This review I provided to Answers.com is about a great LED lamp. The MSi Lighting PAR 38 lamp rocks. It has been in my house since 2009. Still going strong. Like no issue. So I really hope you enjoy this review.
Here is a sample:
There are PAR 38 LED lamps and then there is an MSi lamp PAR 38 LED lamp. Frankly none other compares. Other lighting companies try to duplicate their work but nothing has reached its technological advancements or brightness. More importantly as many bulbs have been tested for years inside and outside of a building; none have stood up like the MSi X-PAR 38.
Easily Replaces and Halogen Lamp
MSi has PAR 38 lamps in both a 14 watt (W) non dimmable and 15W dimmable replacement. These bulbs easily can replace any and all 100W halogen PAR lamps in your home or building. These bulbs are in many places across the United States. It lights up the Liberty Bell and also is in furniture stores, Macy’s, Nine West, Jones New York, Smithsonian’s and many other types of businesses across the country.
What Makes it Different?
MSi takes the most popular Cree LEDs and puts them in a casing that has aand patented heat reduction technology that is cooler than any other LED lamp on the market. It also has a patented optic covering that spreads out as shown in the photo along the rim of the lamp. This fins out the light or spreads it out while being crisp and clean lighting. Bottom line, MSi has 3 patents & proprietary design technologies in this one lamp.
Anything to be Concerned About?
On thing seems to hold back this lamp. Access. It seems that the only lightning companies that have access to this lamp are online or you can order from a distribution channel. Yet, it is not yet at your local hardware store to pick up in town. If there is any complaint to have this is it.
They recently partnered with 3M lighting to distribute their A-Lamp which was previously reviewed. Yet their lack of access to regular markets has been limited. If they decide to ramp up production for the masses they certainly need to consider big box retailer where millions of people shop.
Still Running After All These Years
This review has been using this lamp and has now been tested since 2010. It has yet to fail, diminish in lighting or even have a single diode blow out. It still pumps out bright light. More importantly, it saves dramatically on energy costs for companies and homes. If Macy’s has been using these lamps since 2010 and saved tens of millions of dollars per year something must be right.
Other retailers, furniture stores, museums and commercial buildings need to seriously consider this lamp. It is still going and even being used to light the room this review was written in. Bottom line: it works and stands the test of time.
