No Sugar Coating: Beyond BS Show Throwback with Tiffany Raim EV show

Listen, sometimes you have to look back to realize how far you have actually come with a Tiffany EV show on my podcast with Apple. However, looking back also reminds you that some things never change. Specifically, I am talking about the “BS” in the green industry. Consequently, I decided to dig into the archives and pull out a classic episode from February 13, 2015. This wasn’t just any episode of the Electric Vehicle Beyond BS Show. Alternatively, this was the moment we decided to stop being polite and start being real. Therefore, I brought on the one and only Tiffany Raim, also known as “Ms. Real.”

In 2015, the electric vehicle world was a very different place. For instance, the Tesla Model S was still the shiny new toy on the block. Furthermore, most people still thought EVs were glorified golf carts. Meanwhile, Tiffany and I were sitting in the studio (metaphorically or otherwise) ready to drop some truth bombs. Because of this, the episode became an instant favorite. It was raw, unfiltered, and basically a “kitchen show” with some added edge. In addition, we didn’t just talk about cars. Instead, we talked about people, solar energy, and the constant stream of nonsense coming from the mainstream media.

Tiffany EV Show: Why 2015 Was an Explosive Year

Looking back, 2015 was a pivotal moment for environmental sustainability. For example, we were seeing the early stages of a massive shift in how people viewed renewable energy. Nevertheless, there was still a massive amount of misinformation floating around. Because I hate sugar-coating things, I knew I needed a co-host who could match my energy. Tiffany Raim was exactly that person for this EV show. Specifically, she brought an unfiltered perspective that most “experts” were too afraid to share. As a result, we created a show that focused on real information versus the usual copied-and-pasted content you see everywhere else.

Furthermore, the industry was full of “greenwashing” back then. Consequently, our goal was to peel back the layers and show people what was actually happening behind the scenes. We discussed the problems, the solutions, and everything in between. Additionally, we weren’t afraid to mention celebrities. Often, celebrities talk a big game about the environment while flying private jets. Therefore, we called them out. It wasn’t about being mean; conversely, it was about being honest.

The Problem with “Copied Content”

One of the biggest rants we had during that show was about the lack of original thought in the green space. For instance, so many blogs and news outlets just rewrite the same press releases. On the other hand, we wanted to provide a deep dive into the actual tech and the actual lifestyle. If you want the real deal, you have to talk to people who are actually living it. Similarly, the solar industry was facing its own set of “BS” issues in 2015. Many companies were overpromising and under-delivering. However, we emphasized that solar power is a long-term solution, not a get-rich-quick scheme. Consequently, we helped our listeners navigate the murky waters of renewable energy installations. Above all, we wanted people to understand that being “green” isn’t a trend; it’s a necessity.

Celebrities and the Green FaΓ§ade

During the show, Tiffany and I took a hard look at how Hollywood was handling the climate crisis. For example, some stars were truly putting in the work. Meanwhile, others were just using environmentalism as a PR stunt. In contrast to the sugary-sweet interviews you usually hear, we dissected who was real and who was just following a script. This “unfiltered” talk is what made the Electric Vehicle Beyond BS Show so unique. Specifically, we treated it like a conversation you’d have in your kitchen after a few drinks: honest, blunt, and maybe a little loud.

Moreover, this approach allowed us to connect with people on a deeper level. People are tired of being lectured to by people who don’t practice what they preach. Therefore, by keeping it real, we built a community of listeners who actually cared about the facts. EVs Beyond the Hype

Let’s talk about the cars for a second. In 2015, we were speculating about the future of electric mobility. Fast forward to today, and some of those predictions were spot on. For instance, we talked about the need for better charging infrastructure. Nowadays, we are seeing things like Enel Charging and Formula E making huge waves in the US. However, back then, it felt like a dream.

Additionally, we discussed the pricing of EVs. Specifically, we wanted them to be accessible to everyone, not just the wealthy. Even though it took a while, we are finally seeing some progress. Making EVs more obtainable for the average person is the Nissan Leaf. But in 2015 that felt like a small car. Nonetheless, we kept pushing the narrative that the “BS” regarding range anxiety and battery life was mostly just that: BS.

The “Kitchen Show” Vibe

What made that episode special was the “F-bombs and S-bombs.” Not because we wanted to be crude, but because we were passionate. When you care about the planet and you see people destroying it for profit, you get angry. Consequently, that anger fueled our discussion. We weren’t trying to fit into a corporate box. Instead, we were trying to wake people up.

Moreover, that “no-nonsense” attitude is what I still bring to the table today. Whether I’m talking about green cleaning or recycling segments, the core message remains the same: Do your research and don’t believe everything you hear.

Real Solutions for a Real World

During the broadcast, Tiffany and I didn’t just complain. Alternatively, we offered actual solutions. We talked about how individuals could make a difference without waiting for the government to act. For instance, we discussed home efficiency and small lifestyle changes. Therefore, the show wasn’t just a rant; it was a roadmap.
